I've just spotted a new shape scooby badged as an Sti type RA. It has a low line/standard type wrx rear spoiler. A black rear diffuser under the rear bumper. A lower front bumper/splitter.
P1 looking grey alloys.
The bit that caught my eye was the little carbon badge on the boot "Type RA". It's the first time I've seen one in the new ugly shape and was wondering if its genuine. It had a Blitz boost gauge mounted next to the steering wheel.
It did not have the "torpedo launcher" head lights which would have made it look better IMO and it was a metallic "pink"?? candy colour.
What's the deal? Is it real and is it as special as the older type RA?

They are genuine. I have a MY01 JDM STI RA. Externally, most easily noticed are the unpainted wing mirrors and roof vent.

Believe the standard "Type RA" is no longer in production. It has been replaced with the RA Spec C, which has slightly higher torque.
