Do you reckon Prodrive would touch a WRX imported from Europe, or should I go for a Audi TT or Focus RS?

Thanks

As Mike at Prodrive reads this BBS, i guess you will get a personal reply or a reply here sometime next week on there official position, UK dealers will service EU imports, so i doubt Prodrive would turn it down, but the warranty implications may be different, as an EU car would carry EU warranty !

would also be interested in an answer to this particularly in respect of warranty. I wound never buy a new car from a uk dealer, so the answer really detirms whether I buy another scooby!

Thanks

if u could afford a TT i would go with that

or my friend was talking about a Audi All terrain or something to that affect that came with an adjustable height
(ie u press a button and it could raise or lower 3 inches....good for off roading)

Sorry,

I don't understand the question, why are you worried about prodrive, you can just take you car to Scoobysport and end up with a better one than prodrive anyway!

Really? Tell me more about the Scoobysport kits please!

The thing is I cant decide on the Scoob, the TT or whether I should wait for the focus?

Question

Well my specific question is, if I import a car from Holland/Belgium and have it PPP'ed (which is what I would like to do) how will this affect my manufacturers warranty and do Prodrive warranty any (understandably very unlikely, but I worry!) engine problems post PPP.

Also I believe the scoobysport exhaust is very good at getting the extra power from the enging, but a PPP will give more torque and hence improved driveabilty. Correct me if I'm wrong please but I think the PPP gives 245ps and 261lb ft torque, whereas just a scoobysport exhaust and air filter gives around 240ps and 230 lb ft of torque.

Also on a UK car the Prodrive option allows the car to keep the full warranty, hence my question.

Thanks

Jon

Having had an exchange of emails with Mike Wood on this very subject, Prodrive will NOT put a PPP on an '01 WRX (ours are UK supplied) that has a non-standard exhaust on - PARTICULARLY a downpipe. If the '01 PPP goes dealer fit the dealers will be instructed to do the same.

There are concerns that the combination of a d/p and the PPP ECU will take boost beyond the capabilities of the PPP mapping.

Polarbearit,

You can buy he WRX from Holland/Belgium and have the PPP fitted there before you pick up the car. When I bought my MY00 from Holland it was an accessory option. Warranty issues would be with Subaru Netherlands.

Excellent news I will look into getting it fitted over there, is it cheaper in Holland/Belgium then (like everything else)?

The PPP for MY00 goes for 4634.00 NLG = 1568.49 GBP. I don't know what the price for a MY01 PPP is, but it will be definately cheaper than UK price.
