You should have gone to the customer service desk, asked to speak to the Duty Manager and made a complaint.
Say that a trolley has been blown by the wind into your car, and you would like them to pay for the damage as they should have enough staff out collecting trolleys to stop this kind of thing happening.

....bad luck mate....... as the Manager of a DIY store, that aint gonna work I'm afraid.....I'd draw your attention to the sign that says u'd parked there at your own risk and to **** off and stop wasting my time.......unless you were a scooby owner then I'm sure we could come to an arrangement
