Does this model need an ECU reset as I dont believe it was run on Optimax before and Ive used it since the first day I got it (about 3 weeks ago) and it seems a little rough. Done 800 miles so far all on optimax.

I thought it didn't need a reset.

Wink

Its probably best to do an ecu reset on all Pre 01's as it takes a few miles for these ecu's to adapt to new fuel, Post 01's adapt instantaniously though to better quality fuel

The MY99/00 ECUs do not need a reset. Reset MY98 and earlier.

From experience... MY98 and earlier need a reset. MY99/00 will adjust over 50 miles or so, but doing a reset forces it into re-learning immediately. MY01 and later learn virtually immediately and don't need a reset.

Hear endeth the lesson .

Cheers

A link to a website makes it no more true or false. My advice having reset the AE800-2 ECUs over 200 times now and watching the responses carefully with datalogging is not to bother.

John, from your profile details I assume you are in the 'tuning' business and therefore know your stuff on ECU's?
