Respray Quality - My Rights ?

Should I expect a respray job (arctic silver) of bonnet, front wings and bumper to match perfectly with the rest of the car ?
Would I be within my rights to reject the work if there was a perceptible shade variation between new and old (3yrs) bodywork ?
Can I argue for a full respray ????

depends who is paying for it I guess. If it's an insurance job then it will be down to you and the insurance inspector to agree. I recently has a rear door repaired after someone drove into it. The respray was excellent finish but darker and more metallic. I agreed with the inspector to have the whole car done!! Looks absolutely fantastic and the best paint finish on any Impreza now! All the spoilers (front and rear) and light covers are all exactly the same! I would make a fuss and demand a full respray.

I did!!! Depends how persistant you are. The repair centre said they couldn't match the paint exactly 'cos the original was so thin and matching the shade was difficult. Even if the colour was the same, the finish on the repair was much better.
If it is an insurance job and it wasn't your fault, I would make a fuss.

I would agree that you are entitled to an exact match. If they can't provide that then a full respray. Dave (Shark) is right, they won't go for that but often, if you are persistent enough, insurance companies will relent.
