Good idea, but I don't have it in front of me. I'm buying parts from a wreck and I was wondering if I should bother with the boot lid.

The bootlid on a 94WRX is aluminium so I would have thought that the STI would be , try opening the boot , if it doesn't weigh very much , then it is probably ally

Cool

My 2000 RA has an ally boot, when you open from inside the boot is fully open when you get to it (it pretty light )

I thought my bootlid on my STi2 was ally until i checked it, they seem very light but they just have very good springing. Get a magnet out. I would like to know what, if any, cars came with an ally boot lid. Personally I think approx = 0

I wish I could check it with a magnet, but I don't have it with me. The lid is coming from a wrecked car and I was wondering if I should bother with it; if it's not ally, it's not worth the shipping.

Max, ask the seller to check it for you, with a magnet (wrapped in a cloth) if it falls off its ally if not steel. If they tell you a porky, sale of goods act backs you up. Why guess?
