Question

Guys,

was out on the mountain bike today and as I waited to cross a busy dual carriageway, a silver MY 'OO came past at about 70-80 and had a peach of an exhaust setup. It had that low down deep growl/burble and sounded just like a TVR.

Any ideas as to what exhaust it could be - I've just got to have that sound on my P1!

Ta,

MS

Logic says a Scoobysport - still the best sounding BB out there - especially when linked to a downpipe and straight through centre section

I'm just up the road from Bracknell and have a silver MY00. Was it on the A322 as I usually have a play there most mornings?

If it was mine, I'v got a T75 Downpipe and centre (decat) with SS backbox.

Rich.

I agree that the SS stuff sounds great! I have had one now for 2 years. But, I recently heard BPM's Twister BB and it sounds awesome! I is gonna get one me thinks.

Can I suggest the Scorpion system it sounds deep + throaty. I also believe the TVR's exhaust systems are made by Scorpion also, (so they used to be).

I think the Scoobymania full systems got the deepest burble of the lot!! And I've heard a few

I do have the SM exhaust so i might be a bit biassed but its been compared to a WW1 fighter plane, oh and the baddies pod in the Phantom Menace by independent ears lol

Hi Martin,

What time and where did you here this? I don't think it was my Silver MY00 as it only has Magnex backbox and centrepipe.....

As a previous TVR owner (3 times over) I can confirm that most newer TVR's (Chimaera and Griffith) have standard exhasuts made by Magnex. However even TVR owners can then upgrade to a sports system..........

Cool

I have to say I think the SS sounds good but in a subtle way.

A mate of mine has a Graham Goode Racing pipe on his MY98. Looks crap but sounds unbelievable IMHO sounds better than SS (Flame suit on )

Martin,
Scorpion all the way, best grade aircraft stainless steel, no cats, superb performance and sound to match. Motec in Northants are main suppliers, you should have change out of £400 as well

Mellow, I agree totally. I think I even saw flames spitting out when following you the other week!
Martin I've got the back 3/4 section, which removes the 2nd cat. It's 4" and think it's called 'Imola', it 's got more fruit than the man from del monte.

Would it be to silly to suggest that a few people with different exhaust systems recorded them and poped a 10 sec wav file or something up on the bbs? Even if it was in a more appropiate section?

Martin,
I have a MY01 WRX with a full Scoobysport system and GrpA downpipe, my mate has a TVR Chimeara - very little difference between the two - sexy as Phuk

Hi Mellow,

does that include the down pipe? What does your system sound like, does it have that TVR-esque sound that I described?

Any luck with the 22B yet, I'd go the same way but the finance deal on the P1 is hard to beat for a £30K car.
