Visited local dealer this morning and they said it was to do with the part circled. I should take of the 'c' clip and lubricate the area. Does that arm actually move then? if so when?

And it seems to be the culprit, so I am going to the ring, and there was no need to drink all that Stella last night after all

It opens the wastegate. Don't lose the circlip when it pings off. Some have been known to rotate the end of this to increase the tension on the wastegate to keep it shut

Do I have to line anything up, after I disconnect it?

Or will it all just go back together as it came apart?

Thanks.

davyboy when you take the clip off just clean and replace in the same place, this is the actuator and you can adjust them by normally undoing the lock nuts and turning the rod in and out but best to leave alone as is holds the wastegate closed for longer raising boost pressure or lowering if turned the wrong way some cheeper tuning companies do it this way but not correct as the fueling needs to be right.
