Edited highlights

Supplies to Shell filling stations look set to be disrupted after tanker drivers across the UK announced they are to hold a three-day strike.

The strike is due to be held from 19 July to 22 July but Shell is hoping the action can be averted.

The walkout involves staff from 13 fuel depots at Buncefield in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire; Shell Haven at Thurrock, Essex; Avonmouth in Bristol; Plymouth; Hythe in Southampton; Haverfordwest; Killinghome and Kingsbury in the Midlands; Stanlow in Cheshire; Grangemouth; Aberdeen and Inverness.

Oh no, they can't stop our Optimax.
Do they know this is a life or death situation?
There are bound to be some engines will die if we have to go back to SUL or NUL ;-)

shunty, you are right, have you been 'big brothering' my garage?

Not really, It was left over from when I had a company car (vectra td), and we had that awful fuel crisis!

The lads and I used to take a bit home at the w-end (working away at the time), so we could 'get about'.

I am sure that using SUL and an octane booster will be fine

In my old scoob it used to det using Optimax so I avoided it like the plague.

Little Miss WRX, im baffled on how your car was detting on Optimax. Did u try Optimax + Octane boost???? Or maybe your knocklink was not properly installed and detected other engine noise! How did you eleviate the problem???
