Hi Mick,

I asked this a while ago, it seems about £80-£100 is fair....

I have a 90MY Legacy 2.2GX saloon which I am fitting aircon to provided by Howard at HDC Subaru £224 inc postage, seemed fair enough

The compressor says refrigerant R12 to be used. I have just spoken to a 'friends friend' who is in the trade. He says R12 is now illegal and that they use R409A as a replacement. He will pressure test to 200 bar with nitrogen and if system OK then fill with refrigerant & appropriate oil for £80.

I had been told £45, local Ford dealer does A/C service for £70 + vat, but only with the other type - R134? - I think...

So seems to be in the right ballpark!

Anyway wife is looking forward to getting some 'central-cooling'
