#1
Hi all!
I am thinking on going for looks instead of power (it was VERY confusing and DANGEROUS; if you have read my previous postings!!!)
I was thinking if anyone has converted their subaru to the new look 99my and what do I need to have???
I have a 95 n reg subaru and was thinking of getting the stuff to make it look like a 99my
please help
regards
karlo

Karlo, if you do a search under 'facelift' you'll probably get a lot more info, but basically you need to change bonnet, grill and headlights. As you probably know, the grill and headlights are specific to the MY 99, whereas you can search for a bonnet from a breakers from any turbo from late 96[?] on.
As has been mentioned before, the intercooler location is slightly diferent for both models, but practically this doesent cause any dramas. Bonnet, lights and grill swaps over on original mounting with no
problems at all. If you are going to use all new parts, take a deep breath on prices. It pays to get in touch with specialist car breakers, and collect the parts over time.
Good luck, Mark

Won't you also need to change the front bumper as this is completely different on the MY99 as compared to the MY95.
Then there's the question of the interior as a whole rather than just the seats, the boot spoiler and the wheels if you haven't changed them already.
Why don't you sell your car and use the money you were going to spend on the mods to a get a second hand MY99. Then you will have all your mods plus the new engine plus 4 pot calipers plus a better handling car plus a younger car etc. etc.

Yes i have considered doing that but I like my 95my as the turbo is bigger and the modifications and ride is a lot better(IMHO)
Ok I do not have all the fancy stuff eg 4 pots but most of the int and ext has already been done .
I may spend around £1000-2000 is that not cheaper than a 99my???
No disrespect but I would rather save my money for P1 or evo 6 UK spec than save for the 99my (it would take more than the money I would spend on the facelift!!)
Regards karlo
PS i SAID FACELIFT NOT TOTAL CHANGE!!
EXTERIOR FACELIFT FOR REFERENCE!
