Just bought my second scoob about 2 weeks ago. So far I've has a Fiesta XRwhatever, a BMW 3, a corsa and a F**king Hyundai coupe all up the *rse of the car wanting to race or just being t*ssers.
I'd forgotten about all these gits.
Still it is great to floor it coming out of the 30 limit and watch them disappear into the distance. Why can't people just leave me alone. If I wanted to race I'd drive a Touring Car.
And before anyone points it out, I know - sell the Scoob if it bothers me that much. ***NEVER***

I knew a BMW 3 series would be in there. I'll bet it was a 318 or 316, they hate us Scooby drivers almot as much as this Scooby driver hates them.

know what you mean - everybody wants to have a pop..!

but that's all part of the deal I guess, comes with driving such a distictive and infamous beast.

have to say, if I'm honest, sometimes it's quite cool!

Know what you mean about the cool bit but it can bite you sometimes. Sitting at the lights in my last Scoob with window open and heard some teenagers say Cool car. The heard another one say - whats an old W*nker like that doing driving it.
I'm 43!!!
Sure wiped the smirk off my face.

used to find this happened alot with the 4 door, especially when wife driving with baby on board. she used to boot it and leave them, but then slow down for them to catch up, they then used to follow her. this ultimatly led to scoob no1 being sold.2 1/2 years of glorious scoobyship, ah dear!!.

scoob no 2, 5 door in dbm (2nd hand prev owner an undertaker, omen or what), written off after 3 weeks.

scoob no 3, 5 door in rm. dont seem to get as many people up your **** in this, think it must be because its a 5 door. alot of people think taht just because its a 5 door it does not perform like the real impreza as they call it. how wrong can they be!!

should have bought the 5 door (assuming you have 4 door) if you wanted the performance without the agro

Thumbs up

Just have fun with them.

I came up on a P Plate Golf TDi today on a roundabout. He was driving *very* slowly til he saw me behind in the car (MR2 BTW). Onto the motorway slip road he then boots it, so I slowly pulled alongside him and let him think he had me for a while, then floored it up to redline - very satisfying to let them think they have you, then disappear

Annoyingly, everyone tries it on when I'm in the Elise....and its not *that* fast. A decent Vectra will keep up in a straight line.

In the Merc 500E, noone tries it on cos they dont think its that fast!

DOH!

Funny thing was I was on a GSXR600. Oh how I laughed as I passed him on the back wheel with my pilion giving him the bird

Astraboy-wise man once say never **** in the wind or underestimate the white van.Remember,it is not him who pay for repairs. There are some roads I can drive nearly as fast in a WV as my car. You've got much better visibility as you can see over hedges and further round bends than you can in a car..gives you loads more confidence.

Bet it wasn't a Sprinter-nothing this side of a Mclaren F1 will leave those babies.

You just get over it! It's not a scoob thing at all, I get folk up mi chuff in mi Fiesta

I had a Sprinter overtake me the other day, like a maniac I might add, then he went past a few more cars, really poor driving, then when I caught him up and passed in perfect safety on a straight, lights were flashed and fingers waved, tosser

Cool

Drive a Legacy, nobody knows WTF they are amble, including I'm sorry to say, a lot of Impreza drivers. You can have a lot of fun leaving losers for dead in a Q car.

BTW bdrought, is the Merc the original Porsche built dragster, or the later tamer model.

I could never sell a car due other peeps's driving ! I think you will find the majority of the people that are more or less in the boot of your car are youngsters who are very impressionable. Im sure you will find that there are not so many middle aged family types clinging to your exhausts. So its no big shock as to whats going on. The bigger question is who resorts to taking them on or who finds themselves fighting to restrain their right foot from stamping its authority on these monkeys.

I must have found the odd one out
Coming back from the GP yesterday and mr merc car wants to superglue himself to the bumper of my scoob so as im looking more than a few cars ahead and keeping a safe distance from the vehicle infront i see the traffic slowing (ie they are all braking!) so i brake nice n gentle like, mr merc on the otherhand hasnt seen any of this cos he sooooooooo wants to pass me scoob (and no doubt all the traffic in the jam) that he has to slam on very hard to avoid hitting my scoob
Anyway, traffic clears, road becomes open, scoob leaves poxy merc 240 for dead (in 5th i hasten to add ) then pulls over and watches mr merc drive by whilst laughng at him

I very rarely get hassle in my 4-door Impreza, maybe it's cos it's green .
Plus I've got a big spoiler and I'm only 22
On the few occasions that I have been 'challenged', nothing has come close, yet!

Have fun.

I too get the racers wanting to have a go...nearly every day.

I dont race on the road, but, if I feel like it I do sometimes just clear off into the distance then slow down and let them do what they feel they have to!

I did have a new Jag right up my chuffer on the M25 a little while ago, I was on outside lane as we joined M25...wouldnt back off, when it was safe to move over I pulled into the left lane, as he tried to 'blast' past I kept adding a bit more speed...yes I know,I know shouldnt wind people up like that, well he never went past me, he ended up pulling over too!

Well its goodnight from him and its......

Zip,

its only because you are driving a 318, scooby drivers automatically think your are going to drive like a ****. I would say more hassle comes from the reps in the low end 3 series than anything else. Those with the top end 3 series models basically know there's not a lot in it, and you just get the odd skirmish for fun, low end series just seem to be totally **** and want to race the world and do not realise when there motor is basically crap in terms of performance, I suppose its red braces and a beemer badge syndrome thing

Do not take it to seriously,

Cheers

318s. Mhm. Just loved that article in Evo proposing a new measurement of car performance. The "DRUPS", or Driver RUsh Past Speed", which is the length of time it takes to overtake a BMW 318 who, having been in the outside lane of the motorway, gunning for his life, finally pulls into the middle lane floors it to make his point.

(Please note, I have used "he" here. Feel free to substitute she or even it if it makes you happier).

I believe Scoobs should hit around 3-4 seconds.

( :P for the Humour impaired )

Zilch, I couldn't take it seriously if I wanted to. The thing is I also drive my van every day ( NOT a white one!) and still people in Scoobs, Evos,Beemers etc drive like ***** and its not as if I'm even gonna TRY and race them- if they think that a VW Caddy diesel is fast then they are serious **** holes! I guess its the minority though and they give us all a bad name.
I am in no way advocating that I DON'T drive like a **** sometimes but there are times and places!
The wifes is a 318se which is under powered but comfy for her to do 25000 miles pa.

Let em pull up to the lights, get along side you. Then rev the engine, look across at them and look really mean, then as the lights turn green, pull away at a completely legal speed and watch the pillock fly off into the distance.

Hey presto, no more tosser up your **** trying to race

Started this one so maybe finish.
Some people are tw*ts and its got nothing to do with the scoob. Came home today and a Honda Civic passed me on a corner. I was doing 60. I thought "tw*t" but did not react. He then chased & caught a corsa also doing about 60 and passed it on a corner. Trouble was something came round this time. With lots of braking, flashing lights & finger gestures they all avoided each other.
So its not the Scoob
Its just Tw*ts
