I asked this question in another forum but didnt get much response.
Where did you all go to get your Scoob colour coded? Welchs dont have a paintshop so they recommended me to P&R Coachworks (right behind the Vindis Audi Garage on Brabham Rd). However I want to hear everyone elses experiences before I part with my cash. I went to P&R today to get an estimate and the guy didnt seem too convincing as he was unsure what they would do to the back part of the side skirts that goes alongside the rear doors - surely if they do a lot of Subaru stuff they'd have seen this already, unless he was new?
Im looking to get the side skirts and rear bumper strips done - roughly how much am I looking at so I can see if P&R's quote is good or not?
Cheers,
Simon.

Welch had the front bumper done on mine (red mica). It didn't match afteer the first effort, but they did it again and it's ok. I don't know if it's the plastic but the job doesn't look perfect - some minor flaws, I think (I'm no expert). If I were you, I'd not restrict choice for convenience. Then again, it's not a huge job, so probably doesn't warrant travelling across the country. I'd be interested in your progress, so keep us informed.

Simon,
My local main dealer said they would want about £250 to colour code the side skirts, rear skirt and them bits on the rear arches but this was back when the car was new (sept 2000). They also reckon the retaining clips on the skirts and them plastic bits on the rear arches have a tendancy to break when removed? but i don't know if this is true or just them covering there ****.

P1, are you a real cambridge boy or just another ex london boy just to scared to live there. pick your local pages theres loads in there youl find most are registerd with thre V,B,R,A (vehicle body repair association), you should get atleast 3 mths warranty and any way in most public sevice sectors the customer is always wright so if youre not happy kick up!!!!! and dont accept till youre happy afterall this is youre P1 pride and joy. if youre not to sure about anywhere in cambridge and you dont mind a small drive then try D NOTLY`s in H/DON or GLADWINS in warboys. I know some guys there well and they to a top class job.
if youre still not sure im back in cambridge friday and i know off a guy nr ST IVES who probably one off the most perticular guys i know the dogs fluff and verey reasonable too so iff you realy are stuck mail me a contact No and il call.
P.s only jokin about that london bit.

Nah Ive never lived in London and never will as its an overpopulated sh*thole. Cambridge isnt exactly great especially when it comes down to things to do.
I havent got a P1 even though the name suggests I do. Is my favourite scoob but when push came to shove I couldnt justify the insurance etc at 25 on my measly wages so got an MY00 Turbo instead.

Lol P&R coachworks quoted me £780 OMFG! Went to another paintshop recomended - is in Foxton just passed the railway crossing. £275 for side skirts, rear bumper strips, rear wheel arch strips and some paint damage (down to the metal) on the offside wheel arch.

I know of a good body shop Nr Biggleswade, (just of the A1) They specailise in custom finishes, many of there car's have passed through the pages of Max Power and the like. So as you can imagine there kept pretty busy the with Nova and Saxo boys, don't let that put you off though, if there finishing is good enough for show car's, i'm sure you'll be happy
P.S. They've already had my scoob in for some minor work, (very happy )

Sorry guy's been busy. There called "Colourworks 2000" and there number is 01767 315151
I will let them give you their directions, as it's hidden out of the way cause of the nature of the work they carry out. (they like it that way ) But they are literally just off the A1 south bound.
P.S. Sorry for the delay If any ones having any prob's mail me direct and i'll send the directions,

Who P&R? The guy I went to next laughed when I mentioned their name and said let me guess they quoted around £750 - pretty much spot on so obviously they have a rep for being pricey.
Or do you mean it would be cheaper still at ColourWorks? Thing is they are 30 miles away and Id have to drive there to just get a quote. They sound quite professional too which prolly means its a) gonna be pricey and b) will have to wait to book car in. Or do you know otherwise Dr Pepper?
Simon.
