EVO Trackday car of the year
#1
Anyone seen this yet?
Am only particularly interested cos our new toy is in it and did quite well - posted the 2nd fastest time (means a lot when all we've got is an engine on the floor and lots of boxes )
Not bad for a car with a realistic 160hp.
I assume that was David Browns Exige used again?

Not making excuses for the XTR² - the Radical SR3 is a truely stunning car.
I do wonder if westfield bothered to change the rear sprocket for bedford. As stardard the XTR² is geared for approx 165mph - there is no way it could reach that on this track. Maybe shorter gearing would have reduced the gap a bit more.
As for tyres - it was raining - Avon ACB10s are not fantastic in standing water or rain - John Felstead can vouch for that too.
Still - makes us more excited by the minute - the engine is ready to drop in now - heheheheh
Interestingly the scooby time for that track is a fair old way down - to the tune of about 10 seconds a lap
Ian.

Yes Craig, t'was my car.
I wouldn't read too much into the times printed, for many reasons.
But without doubt, the XTR2 was looking pretty tasty.
Given the Radical + XTR2 each turned up inside a factory lorry, with pit crew and everything I expect they would have been able to set the gearing easily.

Very true David - looking at the way the car was accelerating I'd pretty much guarantee it had the longer gearing on it.
Can you elaborate on "not reading too much into the times"?
Not that I care because obviously ours is gonna be so much faster than theirs anyway

Well, to be rather cheeky, I told them that I'd changed my tyres and arsed around with some settings, and asked if they would time my car again. When in fact, I'd done nothing. Yet my car put in a much quicker time 1:15 (although it wasn't printed). There are so many variables at events like this, only rough unscientific deductions can be made. (There's no doubt the XTR2 + Radical were some of the fastest though)
