my03 facelift impreza - any news??????

Last December I visited the Osaka Motor Show on business and acquired these images of the so- called “Type Euro” Scooby. As predicted elsewhere it is a little more squared-off in shape. I personally like it but for those who find it too understated I am sure that Prodrive and others will find ways of livening it up.
Otherwise those who are disappointed may prefer the third photo!

Unfortunately this is just a limited edition wagon in Japan, with a bodykit styled by the Porsche designers/tea boy. It has nothing to do with the MY03. Think its ugly as sin to be honest, glad it aint the MY03.

Have to disagree with you there friend, if this is the MY03 I'm putting my name down for a wagon in green mica. Gorgeous front end much better than the "miserable git" features of the MY01/2....Blutes

Well in that case Bluto, you should get yourself down to a reputable importer, as its available in Japan now. Go to:

There's all the info. But, as they say, each to their own. Without diversity the world would be a dull place.

I simply cannot believ this is what they are giving us, only the bupers are really different. Not only is it ugly, It's not even a facelift!!!!!.. I am dismayed and this is a great letdown, not at all what we were expecting for the new MY03

The face lifted MY03, will debut at the Paris Motor show in September, it is apparently being re designed by Prodrive. The only thing that is remaining the same is the 'glasshouse'.
I read this a while ago in Autocar or Auto Express.
Of course it could all be properganda!

Andy, what were you expecting? A move back to the old shape? Forget it. Subaru is selling more cars than ever - to a slightly different market. Why would they change their new found success recipe - just to satisfy the more rice orientated customer (I mean that in the nicest possible way, I'm part of this category). They'll loose some customers due to this approach, but have already gained enough to make it profitable to stick to it.
They wouldn't change any bodypanels, or the shape of any lights - this would cause a parts bin fiasco. The most you can hope for is STi style headlamps, and slightly changed spoilers. Remember, they are now going for a more conservative (read USA) market. Radical changes won't do.
I reckon for anything radical, you'll have to depend on Prodrive. Btw, from where I'm standing, it seems that prodrive isn't so in touch with their customers' needs as they were, are they?

Very odd thread, lost count of the number of people who have said that this is simply a JDM special edition and not the MY03 at all, yet people are still saying
"oh no they've ruined the MY03"..
Bizarre
