impreza engine immobiliser

Can any one tell me how to disconect the engine immobiliser on a 1999 impreza sports wagon, a new key with a chip is fairly expensive, I cut a normal blank it will unlock the ingnition and crank the engine but won't allow the engin to start.
could someone please advise?
Also there seems to be a hesertation at about 3500rpm during acceleration, apart from the hesertation it idles and is fine at normal throtel opening

To be honest, even if people knew how to bypass the immobilser they would'nt post it up on a public BBS.
In the UK the Impreza is one of the most popular cars to steal, carjack or joyride. Therefore people posting in public how to get around the security would not go down too well.
It's probably best to speak to your dealer and see what can be done.
As for the hesitation problem, do a search on 'Hesitation' and failing that post another thread in drivetrain
