Cool

And upon the 1 1/2 hour wait for my scoob to be returned i was excited, upon getting into the scoob and driving her i was not but alas i was just warming the engine back up
So the Motorway called and off i did go, where i needth to use 4th before i no longer needed it!!! and as for 5th at 60mph, ohhhhhhh
there was this strange feeling when i accellerated in 5th, one i had never encountered before, the feeling of being pushed back into my seat!!!!!!
And the devil sent an audi a6 2.4 to tempt me, and i was tempted but moved away from it quickly, without effort (in 5th!!)
And i also played with the fast pedal on the wayth home! power on power off power on power off power on ahhhhh and i recommendth you to take your scoob and have the hand of Prodrive touch it for it is good

Tony

hi tony..what year is you scoob..the reason i ask is that some my98 cars with ppp in the dyno.scoobynet have very low bhp figures while other my98 cars with just exhaust changes have a better bhp also not much difference in torque .my99- cars seem to better any idea.....mark

Hi Mark,
My car is a euro import MY00, the improvement is VERY noticable in 4th and 5th, was on the motorway most of the time so i didnt really use 3rd that much (no need to now ) but ive run the car on super since new (12k on the clock now) and it definately feels quicker, esp to 120 (kmh of course )

Just had my car back from Prodrive
for the PPP fitment, and I would recommend it to anyone. It surely is the best thing I've spent as TonyBurns Testament says!

Definately more omph mid range and it sounds lovely not too loud just burbly and roars when you give it a boot!

Thanks for MikeWood seeing me off

Thanks to Gregh for organising this group buy and tempting me to part with my hard earned cash which I would of spent it on CR@P if not for the PPP.

Question

Can Mike Wood or anyone answer this question please?

Will MY01 WRX's have to be taken to Prodrive by their owners as the price has reduced, or does the £1600 cover transport by the local dealerships ?

To be honest I'd rather take it there myself and enjoy the drive home

Nathan..

Cool

I've done 600 miles 'testing' my PPP I got on Tuesday

It's worth checking your speedo 'cos you find your going alot faster than you would pre-PPP

Also it revs right through the revs, hit a dual carriageway A-road on the way home, power all the way to 6500 rpm before changing up!

Superb!

So Mike, you respond to positive comments but choose to ignore some negative comments in the Drivetrain section - addressed to you!!!!!!

(us MY01 boys have waited patiently for 6 months for the PPP for the WRX to be released, only to be told Prodrive are giving priority to the UK300 owners - so we have to wait till end Aug to get ours done!!!!)

That's hardly fair, Jza. Mike's set out the position, and there's obviously reasons for this. Read between the lines a bit and I think you may find that Mike's hands are tied and that it isn't really a Prodrive decision...

Personally, I think it's wonderful that Mike follows this board, and I thank him for his input. Given that motorsport will make them shedloads more money than PPP'ing customer's cars, I'm glad that the chance exists for Prodrive to layeth their hands of healing upon the Great Unwashed

Unhappy

Hiya Jza,
The UK300 is a limited edition and thus Subaru UK have all rights to when they can release it.
Prodrive would have had their hands tied during this period so please dont blame Mike for not responding to all your questions, some companies HAVE to keep quiet about their product or else the surprise would be spoilt (and other companies will try to undercut the already great price its going to be at!!) and just looking into one of the UK300's yesterday they do look fantastic (prefered the PD7's on Mikes car than the gold alloys on the blue one thou)
Alot of hard work and effort goes into Prodrive making this package (the PPP) as good as they can for you the customer, dont fret about it being a little late, when you get it on you wont be complaining, just keep looking at yourself in the mirror cos all your going to be doing is smiling like a cheshire cat
All i can say is that Mike Wood has done a great job and supports us here on this board, the last thing he needs it to be getting grief for something that he cannot do anything about, its like asking you JZA to do an accounting job when your an electrician, pretty hard eh??
We all have opinions though, if you wish to air them then email Mike but make sure its a NICE email and not one that seems to come across as slightly abusive, we need support from people like Mike Wood and he probably doesnt mind the feedback we give him on the products Prodrive supply either

Regards
Tony

The best thing I have done to the car the PPP.

JZA, Mike Wood is good enough to post on here so lets not blame him personally as he does not write Prodrive policy. If you have a problem contact your dealer or Prodrive, as they say all good things come to those who wait.

Darren.

Okay, without getting carried away here....Imagine in normal driving mode..nice burbly boxer type rumble. Nothing too dramatic, just nice..O.K? (I had a Scoobysport Backbox) A bit Quieter in fact than that.I think you get the picture. Then for a variety of possible reasons, You get the urge to floor it, fair enough? Except that the burble suddenly and unexpectantly turns (at around 4k)into a WRC/F1 banshee scream, which as you can imagine is both a bit unexpected and bloody cooooooool. Best I can do for an explanation. Hope that whets the appetite. And by the way Jza anticipation is half the fun

Tony , I tried to convince myself not to buy PPP as I could use the money towards something more practical , And look what you have done to me by writting your review, damn my wife won't be pleased when she finds out i've booked it in.

I blame it all on you !!

Thumbs up

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying the PPP.

I opted for it with my RB5 from new (WR SPORT version). After testing a P1 not so long ago, I can confirm that the RB5 with PPP is clearly the better package!

Nathan

The exact mechanism of when and where the performance package can be fitted is still in discussion. One thing that will not change is that you can still bring your car to Prodrive to have it fitted. We have changed where we do the work now having moved to our new site near Warwick.

Jza

I would dearly love to be able to fit the performance package to you car NOW, but we are not in a position to. Please don't see this as 'tough luck for loyal customers', it's not how we feel at all!
Please keep in contact with your dealer but bear in mind that he may get a little stressed if you shout at him too much.
We are all trying to help!!!

Regards
