Is it for the Classic shape or the current model?

Do you mean the book that they did last year called 'You and your Impreza Turbo'?

It's not a technical workshop manual like most of their other pubications, more a history of the car, the rally team and a guide to modifications. It's a good read if you're really interested in that sort of thing, much like an illustrated version of the SIDC FAQ. It's pretty comprehensive and accurate as far as I can see.

I have a copy, read it once and put it on the shelf. It helped pass a couple of dull afternoons.

Andy.

Are you referring to the 'You and your Impreza' book? If so it's not really a manual - more a history of the Impreza. It's still good, but not a 'haynes manual' in the technical sense...

Unhappy

The haynes web site doesn't list anthing for the Impreza.

You can get the Subaru dealer ones, but there not cheap and come in several sections..

A full set of workshop manuals for the car will run to several hundred pounds!

They will however, fill a good bookshelf - they are very comprehensive!

Unless you are intending to do major work on the car youself (like re-building the engine, gearbox or diffs), then they are probably overkill for most people's use.

Haynes have said in the past that they won't produce a workshop manual for the car, as they don't believe there is enough interest. I think they look to sell at least 10,000 copies to make it worth their while.

There should be enough of us here with technical ability on Scoobynet to produce a haynes style manual. (CD/webpage sort of thing...)

After all, whatever I have asked in the tech forums has been quickly and easily answered!

I think it probably just needs collecting together somewhere

I usually do car work myself, so I can take photos of bits I am going to change on the car. Mainly do the simple bits though, but it should all be documented...

There are several people on the BBS who have done LOTS of work, so it should become comprehensive very quickly.

IOW_duder, if you want to have a go at a website, I can help a bit if you like - can start with DIY 4-pot caliper fitting

before starting a project like this, we need to find out if the people that have done LOTS of work on scoobys are willing to spend time to create documents for the website.

Maybe a new topic is in order?

Luke

I've done a couple of basic bits (and have the photos for a few other bits - just haven't written it up yet) - see http://www.geocities.com/scoobyserviceuk/index.html
Please feel free to help yourself if it's any use!

That's the sort of thing.

There are numerous bits and pieces about on the web, but it's time consuming to find a lot of it.

Sorry I haven’t been about to keep this thread alive but I have tonsillitis and have been in bed for most of the weekend.

Ill start on a few designs and collecting information. Dnb, if you want to find some information to that would be great. We will have to see if we can get an info site of the ground. My dad and brother saw ya yesterday I hear, what do you think of me new car?

This has been in previous threads...

But there is one by Chiltons - US versions up to 1994 I think, will check when I get home. Covers all Subaru, Justy to SVX. Quite handy in lieu of any other manual being available. ~ £20 from Amazon.
