What sort of difference does switching the aircon on with a 95wrx? performance wise and fuel economy?

I think it 'saps' a few bhp (exactly how many someone else will know).

I understand you should switch the air con ooff before switching your engine off.

Anyone got any ideas?

performance wise, none if you floor it as it disconnect the compressor, fuel economy wise, your effecifly usinf another 3-5 hp or do, so about 5% depending on the outside temperature and how cold you set it. The climate will only run the compressor when you need it.

On the motorway there has been resaerch done that there is no differance between running the aircon and having your windows open.

There is one big difference between having the airco on and opening your windows on a motorway - you can still hear the stereo with the airco.
