2.0 WRX = 1200 kg.

Nose weight = 75 kg.

All slows you down a bit.

 

I had been led to believe that turbo petrol cars were not the best to be using for towing.

More tordue at same r.p.m.

2.0 GX Sportswagon = 184@3600 rpm

2.0 WRX = 292@3600 rpm

Make sure that you idle the engine before stopping that should be the only precaution.

 

Fortunately it's not going to be towing that everyday! Perhaps a couple of return trips a year to the west coast...

Incidentally, he's about the only person who likes the look of the MY01

 

Me old man who currently has a 2.5 Quadcam Legacy estate is looking for something a bit smaller but with lively performance. So far he's looked at the Golf V6 4motion (and liked it ) and today we'll test drive both the MY01 WRX and Sport.

But one thing he's wants is to tow his boat - 1100kg or so fully ladened - with it from one side of Scotland to the other, can the new MY01 hack it?

The MY01 don't look that bad. It's starting to grow on me now. OK the googly eyes don't look that fantastic but if I didn't have a MY00 I'd still by a MY01, after all its still an Impreza turbo with top performance.
