I just put a blanket on the back seat and put it in the back, I know this will disgust some scooby members

Andy - you do that in a 2 door?

I use a Paddy Hopkirk thing that carries two bikes quite happily. It goes on the boot lid/back, but works as the straps fit underneath the spoiler to hook onto the top lid of the bootlid.

Mine's a UK MY00, and I daresay that you should have no problems with a higher spoiler...

Nick.

Cool

Nick, nice to chat again, been to long
I've seen too many creased boots to go with that. Got a few looooooooong trips (Scotland) coming up and I've never felt good about boot racks, mine always ended up with straps flapping everywhere.
I was kinda hoping everyone would say they'd fitted the Thule(?) roof bars or equivalent.

Question

Anyone dumb/enthusiastic enough to be doing this regularly? What rack are you using?
Cheers,
Chuck

Don't use boot racks, I have the dented bootlid to prove it.... definatley get roof ones........
Surely those bikes will fit nicely in the back of the estate car......

i've got a wagon at the moment and have always put the bikes inside if you take the saddle and front wheel off its very easy. However now the kids have bikes as well getting 3 in is a chore so i invested in a graber rack.
Also given the muddy conditions this year and i like off road mtb i decided washing out the mud from the car had to stop.
However i am moving to a saloon soon and the dented boot lid stories are now worrying me.
DOH! have i bought the wrong gear?
