Definitely a good idea, though I don't know how we could achieve this in our situation

BT maybe worth contacting

Question

Just an idea...

Between us we must get through 000's gallons of petrol a week. Has anyone thought of having a buying arrangement for Petrol? Loads of companies have them - could we sort out the same thing? If we could it would be a good way of securing SUL at a decent price, it seems to be getting rarer and the price varies wildly.

Ideas welcome.

Richard.

I don't know, but some big petrol companies offer some sort of discount (usually through some discount card) but this discount card is only available to ibg groups (Usually, companies wich provide cars to their workers, etc). You could try to form some sort of community (scooby@uk seems like a good idea) and try to negotiate those discount cards... I love the Idea, but really don't know who to talk to... (+, I'm in Portugal, so count me out of this one )

I'm up for it.
What about supermarkets?
Did you know Tesco is the biggest petrol retailer in the UK.

Cool

At work we deal with Arval PHH who operate two kinds of cards, Allstar and Overdrive it might be worth going on there website or phoning 01793 887 000 - ask for the fuel team.

Hope that helps!

the group buying cards to my knowledge actually cost companies more money in that they dont reduce petrol price but they do have a admin charge!

This is actually a bloody good idea a m8 and me tried to organise this for both our companies a while ago, can't remeber where we got to, I'll try and dig it up.

Preferrable we need a single location with buy in from garage owners (dangerous) for fuel like Shell Optimax which I belive is 99 Ron.

I'll sniff around!

Yes, but you will get stung with import duites so you will not save anything. Unless you are thinking of hiding some down your trousers the next time you come back from the continent....

Great idea ! It may be worth doing the same as my local Indian though.. A strong plastic carrier over the usual brown paper bag.

Hi Chaps.. this is a great idea...

I have actually been working on this behind the scenes to try to put together a scoobynet privellage card for fuel..

It looks like it would mean sticking to one fuel company, but *could* mean quite a good saving..

stay tuned

Cheers

Simon,

The fuel card I have at work (UK Agency) allows me to use BP and Shell. There's plenty of them about and most sell SUL. I would think you could get something like this so you're not limited to one company..

Nimbus.. surely that's just a charge card though rather than a discount card?

We certainly stand a far better chance of good discounts if we offer loyalty to one company..

We are actually quite a long way down the road with this, so I step up the pace a bit and get things moving.

Shell Optimax???!?!?!??!?! where where where!!!

Come on then Simon, some of us will be spending > £100 on SUL this weekend, time is running low

Are you looking for preferences on filling stations, just in case it will be restricted to one?

If so, mine are:
First Choice : Shell
Second Choice: Esso
