i know this has been on a couple of threads recently but just in case people have not read them all it is a very useful tip.
if your scoob is alarmed and immobilised, then if people want to nick it they may cut the handbrake cable to roll or tow it away so it can be broken into somewhere quiet and out of sight.
when you park your car, leave it in gear (i use either 1st or reverse). this means that even when the handbrake cable is cut, the car wont move if pushed and will be unable to be towed as the front or rear wheels wont rotate freely.

good idea.....
but can they not move the gear selector from underneath? but even if they can it is extra difficulty and time and hopefully they might give up or get disturbed.

Have done it before a few times, but after reading just how many people do this, in another thread, I now do it religiously. I also park about 3 inches from a wall and turn the wheels into it . I am also within sight of CCTV. ...Cat 2 Factory fit & Cat 1 immobolisers..... and yes, I still worry

same happened to our RS, cut the cable and onto the back of a low loader. Another option is to put a tilt sensor on the alarm, you can set them to as sensative as possible, basically you sneeze near it and it'll trigger the alarm, we also park with the wheels turned in and in gear, oh yeh' and 9mm
under the pillow with silencer of course, don't want to wake the neighbours do we now
be good..
