Default 2.35

Hi guys what turbos are you running on your 2.35 builds I've managed to get a ej22t block and JDM heads with spec c cams and is now on the hunt for a turbo to get in the 550 mark without being a total lag monster

rcm600 ,stock location
seen few graphs most of them 600/600 on meth 550 to 560 horses on petrol
few on renegade 71% race fuel did 620+ below one with 637

Below rcm600 on 2.1 marginal lag ,mine rcm500 spools better but less horses on top

Seen one on 2.35 with 600lbft around 4k revs,Your rods wouldn't really like that torque so early.
Heard Xona oem position is superior tech but no one seen one did those numbers around 4k revs and overall

Wow, fair play, I was looking at the 2.35 but settled on the 2.1 due to issues finding one and the overall cost.

Speak to @1509joe , he recommended you a turbo previously I'm sure there must be one in that range thats suited to a 2.35. If I was going brand new I think I would look at them or go the Tim *** route. Like I said before only reason I went RCM500 is because I found one at a decent price.

Fair play I'll have a look at that. Better spool than my sc38 haha 🤣

Yeah went for just pushing my engine to getting the JDM heads and a ej22t block off eBay for 1850.

Thought might as well do it right first time plus I'll get money back selling my ej207

Price is very good for ej22t
From Dbrad on ebay?

Ej22t can throw a rod , seen few over a years 600 horses engines did it,make sure to buy proper rods for them with good bolts. Better have other failure than hole in a block.
Thats a thing with precision turbos in oem position or even rotated ones ,spools very good on right setup.
Below Tim *** turbo on 2.35 mapped by him, blue is on meth like above rcm600's
Its simply dead at 4k revs like Xona ,at 4400-4500 its close to rcm600 but thats to late, car with rcm600 is long gone.

Thats really good considering current prices. Assuming its a bare block, does it need any machining?

Yeah I bought it outside of eBay for a little bit off I was looking at that block he had for 1250 but it had already sold

That one with the RCM graph looks a lot better

Yeah it needs the thrust conversion 14mm studs and a bore etc but for the price couldn't go wrong. After that the cheapest I could find was RCM at 4k

I was debating going 14mm on my 2.1 but for the price I upped the spec of the studs to RCM extreme. This means that if in the future I need to go 14mm due to damage I still can. It might be something you want to speak to your builder about, especially if its Matty. Also that other block for £1250, if its the one I'm thinking about I'm sure I saw a lot of bore score on the one cylinder, looked a bit too much headache.

I was looking at them I'll have to have a word with him

And yeah it needed a ton of work so the more expensive option was better

Have you got the upgrade tensioner for the cambelt. Don't know if it much difference between the Fuji one and RCM

Nope, kept stock, I did do the RCM oil pump thought no point messing about with that. Matty knows my overall build quite well, tell him its the guy with the Type R throwing in the 2.1, he will know who it is. He did my previous classic years ago, I bought the JDM heads off him.

I had one company by me wanted 10k to build the engine when I asked for a breakdown I could save 3k buying the bit myself

Looking forward to getting it on Matts Dyno when it's done he has been really helpful on Facebook with the build
