Default Adaptive Cruise Control in older Subarus

I'm looking to get a Forester. Due to budget, I'll probably get an older one. I had given up on the idea of ever owning a car with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), however normal cruise control is a must due to my boring, dual carriageway commute.

I spotted a 2008 Forester. There was no mention of cruise control in the description so I check the pictures to see if I can spot the cruise control stalk. To my surprise, the stalk has ACC written on it. Surely, they didn't have Adaptive Cruise Control in 2008? Did ACC stand for something else back then?

Cheers!
