Default Hawk STI wheel nut torque setting

Anyone know what the wheel nuts should be torqued down to on the 07 STI? Thanks!

The book says 80 to 100 nm , the higher figure is around 75 ft pound , I have a larger after market wheel so tend to do 85 to 90 ft pound and have never had an issue 👍

The newer new age sti 2015 or so onwards , was 89 ft pound on the same size nut and thread , so therefore between 75 and 89 foot pounds 😁

there is no logical reason for what is in effect the same nut / stud having ever increasing torque figures............just because its 'tighter' certainly does not equate to 'safer'

65lbs/ft is all you will ever require and this applies to competition / track cars just a road cars.........

Tell that to Subaru..........they must have a reason to increase the figures

Subaru have always done strange 'engineering' things so not a real suprise..........
quite happy to take responsibility for our own actions based on 30+ years of competing and also the education of our lead engineer

I’ve had the opinion , a wider bigger heavier wheel and tyre combo worth a few more foot pound , just personal choice , the holdens they say a bit tighter that’s from those that work on them , I know subaru want to sell a car that’s as economical as possible , but a too thin oil again my opinion v a thicker safer oil for engine life , I wonder if that was adding to the engine failures? Plus known other issues 👍
