How did you first find out about the bbs?

Found out from my boss. He's got P1 (b@st@rd! - don't mean it). So thanks Rich.
Oh and thanks to Simon de B as well - I have to log in every day now to see what's being said!

Was searching for Impreza stuff and came across the the IWOC and joined its mailing list. Also found the v.useful SIDC faq. There was so much talk of Scoobynet I thought I'd better come over and have a look. I have been here in various guises ever since!

I have been into Scoobs for about 6 years now and a friend (Dales on here) bought one last year, and then told me about the BBS.
As I love cars and Scoobs I thought I would have a look. Haven't looked back since as they say

Twas a link from the Easytrack web site last year. I gate-crashed the Scoobynet Airfield day in my Puma as I fancied buying a Scoob. One year on and It's on order and the Puma's gone. God I'm bored driving a Punto round at the momment!

I "discovered" the UBB system on another web-site, and recommended to Phil (SIDC webmaster at the time) that it could be a useful addition to the website. Next day I got an e-mail saying that the software had been purchased, installed, and would be available later that night, and did some beta testing before it was generally known to the public. I think I was the third "member" to sign up, after webmaster, and one other person.
It somehow doesn't seem that long ago!

When I ordered my Impreza, I thought it might be nice to know all about it, so I searched (Google) for Subaru Impreza. One site that came up was the SIDC, which had a link to this bbs.

Hi All,
Very interesting, the different ways we found this site. I am glad I found it. I look forward to jumping on here, reading all the different posts. One of the main things I get out of the bbs is, I learn, from peoples' knowledge and experience. I also like to contribute when I can and do so when I think I can help. I also ask questions obviously. There is also a bit of humor about too. It has happy topics and sometimes sad. Some cause a bit of friction. All in all a cool bunch of people to exchange thoughts with, you are. TOP BBS this as the main thing we are here for is our Scooby Dooby Doo's.
Regards,
WREXY.

Originally this was the SIDC BBS, Phil Dawes became my lodger whilst doing some computer programming at some secret base in Herfordshire Phil then turned it into Scoobynet 1 as at the time Dick Grimes the famous ex police driver SIDC committee member was anti internet!
Phil then closed it down I started up

I stumbled upon it doing a web search looking for information about Scoobs (before I bought mine)....that was a fair while ago. I lurked on Scoobynet for months, sucking it dry for info then bought my car
Then I became a member to try to put as much back in as I got out of Scoobynet which I think I have been doing
PS Billbill, Robertio, Blow Dog, Sal, Rebecca, Ady, Richard, Si, Gramps, Longun, ChrisL, BOB.T...the list goes on and on...no need for you guys to comment on my previous paragraph

Since I'm not on the "excluded" list I think this had to be the most disguised way to tell us there was/is nothing but cr*p on Scoobynet LOL
Theo
(just kidding)
