Default Front Wheel bearing Hub assembly 2006 Forester STI

Hi all

I have play in my front nearside wheel bearing on a Subaru Forester STI 2006, I cant find much information on the front hub assembly on the 2006 forester sti i believe its the same as a hawk eye sti but not confirmed.

Also when did they change the hub and can a full hub assembly be used on a 2006 Forester STI like the one being sold below?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284469954...85722089109032

As far as i know the wheel bearing needs to be pressed out of the hub and replaced? Is this the case or can i just replace the whole hub assembly? As you can see in the add above and Euro car parts are telling me i can use a hub assembly on any STI after 2004 which i don't think is correct.

I am unable to get my head under the car until the weekend to confirm this the hub assembly would fit. i should have 4 bolts next to the CV boot which holds the hub bearing and ABS sensor in place, so i am thinking if i have the bolts the hub assembly should fit, however to me this looks like a rear hub bearing lol or a downgraded wrx hub again not sure.

Anyone with better Hub/Bearing knowledge than myself (not hard lol) on a Subaru Forester STI let me know any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Certainly with my rear hubs on my 2007 Hawk STi I had new wheel bearings, the old bearings were pressed out and new bearings pressed in...no need for new hubs.
It would seem mad to have to buy a new front hub just because of a bad wheel bearing, that doesn't seem right to me.
If you can buy the wheel bearing separately (not sure if you can), then they must be able to be pressed out / in etc.

I think the attraction of new hubs with bearings already pressed in is that it's probably quicker to remove and replace the whole unit, could save on labour / hassle time maybe.
I'd call ICP - always helpful when I've rung them, that link doesn't list Forester anywhere that I can see...
You may find people suggest doing both front wheel bearings at the same time....but you may be ok if there's zero play on the other side.

Can you take a photo of the front wheel? That will make it easier to tell if you're running 100 or 114.3 PCD.

Yes there are all 100 pcd , have a chat with import car parts , i just swapped the bearing on mine which was fairly straight forward , i c p may have the hubs , any 2 litre impreza , 100 pcd so pre 2005 ish should fit , also pre 2.5 engine , the 2.5 were wide track and no longer 100 pcd , drive shafts can be a bit of a bugger to get them out

I may not have explained property , All the Fsti are 100 pcd , the impreza when it went later than around 05 /06 and got the wide track and 2.5 engine had the 114 pcd , so some parts for the 2 litre sti impreza pre 05/06 often fit the fsti 👍

Yarp , but the earlier new age 2000 to 2005 impreza brembo 2 litre sti are the same as they are 100 pcd , just did my rears via Mtec 84 £ for the discs , 65£ for the black diamond pads , always worth having at least a front and rear as they are different sizes helicoil kit to hand , plus one of my calliper mounting bolts snapped , the aluminium in the calliper reacts to the steel in the bolt , the bolt gets covered in crap too , and can pull the calliper thread out 👍

just to add all 5x100 STi based cars run a press fit front wheel bearing assembly whereeas later 5x114.3 cars use a "bolt-in" bearing / flange pack

if its a factory SG9 FSTi then it should have GOLD Brembo 4pot (F) / 2pot (R) calipers and 326mm / 316mm discs fitted.....
