not sure there would be any issue but the belt surface appears to have 'rub' marks on it??
also not sure where you need to pay £200 for a belt kit so as with most things we must be too cheap.........

I am currently doing the same job, I am on my 5th year of the belt and doing it now due to water pump gasket going... think manufacturers guidelines are 105k miles or 10 years,i would say in your case it looks like you geting a rub from one of the belt guide plates or whatever they called you have them over the centre sprocket and around cam sprockets i believe, theses should be gaped at about 1mm i think.
ICP do gates kit for 210 with water pump + 4 quid for genuine metal water pump gasket and further 5 for front crank oil seal.
I would say have a go replacing that... not really worth the risk or at a minimum check the gaps on the guide plates...

a water pump is technically NOT required (its not a VAG plastic ****ter!!) and in general the factory ones are far superior to some of the aftermarket stuff around albeit there may be reasons to change but just because certain re-sellers have decided to make more profit isn't one of them!!

My timing belt is almost 10 years old. Mind you, I have put a buckle on it and now it only has to hold my trousers up.
I will let you imagine what happens if it breaks!
