On the subject of looking out for horses and bikes......

The best advice my farther ever game me for driving fast cars is.

"Allways assume there is someone else coming the other way going even faster than you"

It seems to me that often drivers of v.fast cars think that they are the only person on the road that has a fast car.

For instance overtaking on a short bit of road, its fine if the next vehicle round the corner is doing 60mph, but what, if like you, they are doing 80mph???

Now that the toys are coming out for summer, this is a good time to consider this advice.

Remember if you like driving a specific bit of road at speed, chances are someone else will.

Wink

LOL

Best advice I recieved was "Treat everyone else on the road as if they are idiots!"

Experience has shown that this was 99% correct.

Thumbs up

GT, probably the largest difference in my driving since I passed my test is just that, I used to overtake with a car where 30-70 could be measured in hours at locations where I now would not overtake in the Scooby.

Steve, only 99%?

Cool

is the 1% Scoobynet drivers....
I await the apart from you JGM....

I think it was my bike instructor many years ago who said to treat everyone as idiots..
I assume he ment on the road...

If there is a car at a junction assume it will out and put yourself in a safe position to stop/pass etc...

I always think if I met myself coming the other way I'd be in trouble..

I also somethings think I used to over take here in a much slower car and won't even thing about it now.. must be getting older..
