Default Does this wrapping look ok

As above , first attempt , zip ties are nice and tight using the screwdriver technique to push ball bearing back. The wrap ( dei lava) is tight but not silly tight. Don’t want to drop them off to builder for him to then throw them at me !!

When it does which it will start to deteriorate at least it won't all unravel and will give you chance to add more.

It does look like a good job , Not trying to be negative but it will eventually start the fail , the last lot of wrapping I saw that lasted had been wrapped with clips and wire which held it together much better 👍😁

I will get some more clips on it and maybe some stainless wire and follow the wrap lines and put it over each turn maybe ? Surely that would hold it on better ?

You can buy those stainless cable ties from any electrical merchant they use them for fire alarm cable and you can get 100 for a tenner ,so don't buy from a motor sports company which will cost alot more .
Tie every 2 inches id say .

Yes I got a whole packet from Amazon for about £8 they are stainless but require a little screwdriver to push ball forward to keep tight. I think there all the same. I have loads left so will get some more on.

The only thing i hate with wrapping is when it gets wet or damp and you start your car it's like having a steam engine under your bonnet.

If you have wrapped your manifold make sure you always use an undertray. Getting the wrap wet will ensure it eats through your manifold in double quick time! There’s plenty of room to still fit the undertray back on, on the 2015 onwards STI’s.

If you run without an under tray (not advised as it can disrupt engine bay airflow) then you should run ceramic coated headers instead.

Took my wrap off as it was getting wet, can't do the manifold any good imo, can't get the unertray on either as it doesn't fit on mine.

All noted. Looked at the ceramic coating but although it won’t last as long it’s wrapping is better apparently for keeping heat out of bay. As it turns out I’ve gone front mount so probably could of got away with it. As for fitting the under tray on then yes there looks to be plenty of room and I would want it kept on ideally.
