Default Decent rear suspension?

Hi all,

2007 STI Hawk.
Like everyone, I'm sick of the rubbish quality / knocking of the standard rear struts. Cost me a fortune going new standard struts about 4 years ago. Springs are fine.

With a budget of say £500 to £600 fitted, what struts are good quality, similar or same spec for an STi, and don't knock after a few years?

Not sure You will find something decent for rear, maybe rb320 suspension but will cost more with fronts and difficult to find now.

You could use non-inverted struts at the rear instead:

KYB 324030 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393954324...Bk9SR7y8hYK_YQ

KYB324031 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303815738...Bk9SR77ymIK_YQ

You would need a pair of rear bump stops as well.

The rear RB320 struts had the same issue - not enough upper bearing. Also, the RB320 lower rear spring perch is a different diameter - his current spring wouldn't fit. You can increase the rear bearing upper surface area. Bilstein did this: from 20mm to 40mm - I use 50mm.

looks like is best to pay for parts and fee for assembly to You than You could send it to me for example.
Struts You posted plus Yours rb320 springs ,bump stops ,top mounts etc
The ones You posted are prone to be knock free?

It hasn't got to be Bilstein housings. With modifications, you can fit Bilstein inserts into KYB housings. That way you are not tied to RB320 rear springs.
Bilstein damper inserts into KYB housings:
