Default P1 identification.

Hi Im looking at buying a p1. It doesn’t have a plaque under ashtray. Just trying to find where it has build number. Are where exactly I have to look for?? I see there is a plate on right (drivers side) under bonnet. but where is this build number located on it. Thanks

The Subaru UK/Prodrive info plate should be attached to the LH strut tower in place of the original VIN ( moved to bulkhead) and most of the info was printed on apart from the build number.
Unfortunately this printing could be lost if the enginebay was washed (degreasant) and you are left with just this........

Check out this link for images of all three plate locations

Mine also suffered this fate but was able to get it replaced by Subaru UK Homologation department.

the internal plaques were done by a few people after the fact mainly the P1WOC.co.uk owners club.........NOTHING to do with Prodrive

the build number is stamped rather than simply painted so should be on the aluminium plate regardless of wear
it should also have an EU/UK style 17digit chassis number in the bulkhead that matches the VIN plates.......
JDM cars only have a 9digit chassis number
