Mud Flaps - To fit or not to fit that is the question!
When I bought my blobeye STI last summer, it came with a set of unused STI mud flaps in the boot. And I’ve been undecided whether to fit them or not. Ppl will say it’s everyone’s own preference (which of course I get) but one week I think yes, the next no! Looking around it seems a 50/50 split on fitting them. I saw Dave Y’s new blobeye STI this week and it got me thinking again …
Does anyone know whether they ever came with them installed from factory or were they always aftermarket add-ons?

If you don't want road rash down the side of your car then fit some mudflaps to help to reduce it significantly, if your not bothered about road rash and stones being flung down the side of ytour car then don't fit mudflaps.

it’s a big No , from me ,i personally think they look tacky , they were fitted to cars in the 60’s and rally cars mine is neither , i have no road rash , even more so if they get ripped off bumper damage etc , i had a jdm Fsti with them fitted , first job was remove them looks much better without , but it’s a free world your call 👍😁

I wouldn't mind a set of the black narrow ones for the front only, help with saving road rash and not hideous to look at....
Anyone suggest a decent pair? 2007 STi hawk

Not sure how they make you slow and you dont have to buy ones that drag along the road either.
In fact if you buy the right ones you dont need to drill holes in you car!
In case you hadn't guessed, I am in the 'yes' camp but then I like rally and the rally look. Which doesnt seem to be the case with these cars anymore sadly

When my father used to fit mud flaps on his cars and I was a teenager I hated it as they spoiled the lines of the car, even the factory slim ones.
Personally, I prefer mudflaps only at the front of the car to prevent road rash; they also don't look 'too bad' ; the rears really spoil the lines of the car IMHO.
I've got Rally Armour ones fitted to the front of mine.

can just about see them. Got annoyed with constantly getting tar spots covering the bottom half of the car, doesn’t happen now.
And they were cheap and cheerful Halfords jobs that I cut to the right shape (found a template online somewhere) and added prodrive decals that were a few quid on eBay.
No drilling and been on there years.
