Default ECU- reinstating blink codes

Hi, Ive got a Subaru engine in my T2 vw and been working amazingly, recently its cutting out around 70MPH and trouble starting, fine once started. looking to work out what Subaru engine has been installed and how to reinstate the connections to the ECU so can blink test to try and find the issues.
