Default OE cats and big turbos?

Does anyone have experience with fitting a larger turbo on a 2.0L Blobeye with both original cats still in place?

I would love to fit an MDX555 or MD321H billet, but due to regulations here in Switzerland I need to keep both cats in place.

Can I still make decent power with the cats and one of these larger turbos or am I better off just sticking with the VF35?

The standard downpipe and cats are going to restrict power, could you not fit a bigger downpipe with a sports cat?

as above sports cat and gut the other one , gut it after you have done your version of an mot , the reason i would gut it after is to make sure it gets thought the mot with a sports cat and second centre cat first , the flow is better with a sports cat and a centre cat delete , are you sure your centre cat is actually a sports cat , i’ve had two of the same car with original exhaust system one was a cat one was a silencer , you could run it with both cats and a new turbo but it will strangle the flow a bit , a sports cat in your down pipe will also reduce your lag a little 👍

Most European countries don't allow sports cats, or only as the OP said

Why not get the Prodrive sports cat, wouldn't that be ok in the USA?

Thanks for the replies. Indeed, here in Switzerland it is difficult / illegal to change out the cats.

Perhaps the prodrive downpipe is a good option though since it was more-or-less manufacturer-endorsed, at least in the UK.

For what it's worth, the Prodrive one passes the German TUV emissions.
HJS cats (not cheap) are I believe TUV certified.

Yes as long as they have all the OEM markings on them, will be EU approved.
