Default Anybody know of a forged 2.5 short block ?

Morning all. So taken the plunge and just purchased a load of goodies for a built 2.5 bottom end but …… it’s going to take 6-8!wks for it to be done so being the impatient person I am I wondered if anybody knows or is selling a 2.5 short block. ?

oh bloody hell really !!! Yes I think that’s the plan , found a couple long engines with “ so called “ forged bottom end but wouldn’t entertain that.
yes think o will just wait. It would be sooner but I want the cdb so that adds 2-3 wks for machining etc and will probably go 14/ 12 studs.
jist getting itchy being I’ve got a box full of goodies to mate with it once done.
also got to run it in for 1500 miles before it’s even fitted ( well some of it ) !! Be a good new year present I guess.

it comes down to budget , possibly buy a used engine that is hopefully ok and use that till yours is done (around 2.5k£) , option 2 buy a re built short engine put your heads on it , hoping the short engine is a decent build , i know len at subaru4u often has a bottom end that’s already been machined so it can speed things up , i’m fortunate as my last fsti i broke had a forged engine so kept that and the box plus diff plus a few other parts for spares , it is a long wait to get an engine rebuilt most of it waiting for machining the actual building can be relatively quick , getting heads skimmed takes a lot less time than getting a block done 👍
