A quick wheel question plus does anyone have any gunmetal Enkei Alloys for sale ?
I'll hopefully have a 2008 Sti Hatchback soon, the first thing i'll want to change are the alloy wheels. I like the Enkei alloys that came on the Spec C hatch in gunmetal grey, can you just confirm that their are no issues running 18 inch alloys on a hatch from 17's like with extra stress on the gearbox and wheel bearings etc.
Also, does anyone have any of the Enkei alloys for sale, the same as in the pic below.

Yeh, the ones above are for an Sti but are discontinued by Enkei

I think i repfer the ones above over the spec C ones as the spokes are spaced out more evenly and more uniformed.

I hadn't done, but after you suggested them i had a look, i like the look of the Superturismo LM, they have some other nice wheels too. With being out of touch with scoobies for a while im doing my ground work now as i can't pick up the car for at least a week, maybe a fraction longer so i'll make use of the time.

When you posted up the pic originally I was like I'm sure I've seen an OZ wheel similar to it.
What car did you end up getting.

It generally looks a nice car, as you know with cars of this age they'll have some minor cosmetic things to put right, it's got a little bit of road rash on the rear quarter but that's purely cosmetic and i'll put it right, apart from that it looks good for its age, the car has a stack of receipts including all the run-in oil changes and one for the build which came to £8,300..

It's a 2008 Sti, it's done 83k, the engine was rebuilt 3k ago, it's been forged, closed decked and has had the 14mm head stud conversion done. The car went to East Kent Subaru for the work but they send the engine on to other specialists to be done, Andy Williams built the engine and did all the machine work.

From previous comms you know OEM fitment sizes.
I'm currently running 18 x 8.5 ET 48 SSR GTV01's

Don, if i've read right the diagram that you sent with the specs for the standard wheels, the 18 inch are 18 x 8.5 with the offset/ET at 55 and the PCD at 114.3 ... I notice both you and Gambit are running a different ET, what's the sweet spot on the ET for the 18 inch wheels where they won't rub on anything and they don't look as though they are sat too far inside the arches, yours look slightly sat in more than Gambit's. Is it the lower the ET the more the wheels will stick out of the arches ?
I'll probably have a few questions over the months as i'm basically starting from scratch lknowledge wise with the Scoobies as ive been away from them for a long time.

With the 18x 8.5 going to ET 48, on standard type struts, fills the arch slightly better than standard. ET40 is probably the max without rubbing.
Just a comparison view
18 x 8.5 ET48 SSR wheels
18 x 8.5 ET 55 - OEM MY11 wheels

Thanks Don, that's exactly what i was after, those images show it perfectly. I'll focus around the ET 45 to ET48 area and taking into account what you said about the rim width and camber settings.

Ive found some alloys i like but they are ET55, what size spacers would i need to run those at ET45 ? Is it the obvious 10mm spacers or does it not work like that, also is their a recommended minimum that you can move a wheel away from the hub without it causing issues.

yes exactly that
the higher the ET number the closer the wheel sits to the strut, so yes ET55 is 10mm further in that ET45........
rim design, width and specific tyres would all dictate how much arch lip clearance you have

also you cant fit 10mm spacers without fitting extended wheel studs.
15mm is the minimum spacer size for spacers of this style
https://www.squirrelly.com/products/...-by-squirrelly
even with 15mm spacers you need to be careful as the original wheel studs will protrude past the spacer front edge so you need to make sure you either have pockets in back of the wheel youre fitting or else trim the wheel stud on the car to be flush to the spacer edge
