Default HID conversion recommendations

Hi

Anyone recommend a HID conversion kit for a 1999 spec,

Preferably something that doesn't cut into the original H4 plug

HID are old hat IMO and bring various issues..........

we have tested and use the new(ish) PIAA LED conversion units are they are brilliant............pun intended.........

just be aware that technically anything other than a halogen bulb in an original car will technically fail the MOT but the advantage of good quality LED's is they actually give out the correct beam pattern so less likely to cause issues

MY99 I've just fitted a H4 6000k HID kit from turbo_revs shop on ebay, plugs into the H4 plug on battery side. Replaced a failed HID kit that came on the car from Japan imported 2015. No issues with MoT.

Instructions advise cutting hole in rubber for larger bulb surround, I did two little nicks and dismantled bulb and refitted.

I think they do but Don will know for sure its a 2004.

Huge improvement over standard MY99 lights, lights up the B roads nice and bright. I went for the 35w option, 55w was available too, I have been looking at the H3 HID kits for the fog lights .....

one minor downside, they don't like to be flashed more than 2/3 times, ie at a junction signalling to give way.

Stays on dipped, no high beam. Can sometimes comes back on its own other times fine after turning off for a bit. I stick to just one flash for giving way now.

I was looking to get a set of those, about £150 i think? sure i posted a thread about this.

Philips X-tremeUltinon LED, great brightness and beam cut off pattern without blinding anyone.

no Don required, if its an SG9 STi pre or post facelift have HID dipped beam units............

we are no longer a formal advertiser on here (not sure anyone is these days??) and whilst others like E*C brakes seem to post product threads with impunity it probably better that you simply contact the office direct and all questions can be answered with no toe-stepping on here
