just lo0king at the credit-card sized 'system user guide' for the MY01 WRX subaru alarm. It says

"If your remote key will not work and your spare remote key is not available, then you will have to enter the cehicle. After entereing the vehicle, check that all the doors, boot, bonnet are closed. Using the emergency Keypad, enter your 4 digit PIN."

I don't remember getting a 4 digit PIN with the car (bought new from UK) - and I've not got a keypad in the car - wel, at least I've never seen one!

anyone any ideas?

Talking

There's a little flap/drawer to the bottom right of the steering wheel(in the dash nearest the door).

If the new shape is the same as the old, the keypad will be in the glovebox and the "default" pin should be in your alarm handbook.

Edited because my comments above do not apply.

The 4 digit PIN is written on two small silver stickers, that should have been provided with the documentation (unless things have changed since 2000).

As Neil S said, the MY01 keypad is bottom right of the steering wheel (where the coin box used to be on older models).

As for the code - you did buy this car from a dealer didn't you? Along with the keys, handbook, log book, etc. you should have the alarm code (plus the locking wheel nut code etc.)

Speak to your dealer!!!

The keypad for the MY01 is on the right of the steering wheel, as Neil mentioned. The pre-set alarm code was on a little silver sticker - I think there should have been 2 stickers but we've got 1 - but you can change it. Hope this helps.

Edited because I don't know my left from my right

It's common knowledge where the keypad is.. It's not really a security issue unless people start giving out their PIN Numbers

thanks.

I was thinking of keeping the keys and the fob seperate - but no point really. I daftly thought the silver stickers were for the radio.

my key fob failed the other day, luckily, I was on a push bike and rode home for the other key. Now I know what to do if it goes wrong again.
