Default Hatch sti recirc light flashing and air con not working.

Hi guys,I didn't drive my jdm hatch for about a week and the battery went flattery.
took off and recharged and all good apart from recirc light flashing and air con light doesn't come on.
I'm assuming maybe a fuse.
cheers.

If not just the fuse.......
This might help with diagnostics

I hope its fuse as that looks mayhem. Ha ha.
so it's not just air con but the fans aren't working for the heating either.
is fuse box behind the pull down pocket on drivers side.

it may have just needed aircon recharged , by disconnecting battery that was what made the car realise it had an issue ? hopefully just a re gas needed as most things on these cars are pretty durable

So the light still flashes like 5 times but then goes off and everything works properly now.
annoyingly I can't remember if aircon was any better before.

it’s what i would do , it will tell you if things are working , i’ve had to ge gas twice on other cars ,there were no issues just needing a re gas as cars were getting on in years , so hopefully its that and not a leak , if it’s not that it may tell you the fault when they re gas ie leaks etc

If you don't run your A/C all the time, there is the chance of seals drying out and allowing the gas to slowly leak out over time.
Since 2011, i've had mine checked /recharged a couple of times and thats with using the A/C all the time.

You can buy a bottle of STP aircon gas with a braided line and a gauge from Halfords. Costs about £80, simple to use, and £10 back when you return the empty bottle (you keep the braided line and gauge) It was a green bottle, and apparently has additives to help stop leaks. You get instructions with it, plus videos on YouTube etc.

Did my Passat this time last year, I had a slow gas leak, but the STP gas worked a treat - for me anyway,

sweet,I'll have a look.
Where's the connection on the hatch?
Do you have to connect bottle then open something else to let the gas in.

Sorry, I don't know where it is on the hatch. But I'm sure with the bottle it had a website where you put your reg number in, or model etc, and it shows where to connect.

It's dead easy to be honest. It will look like a tyre valve cap (just bigger and plastic) - there are two of them. One has H on it for high pressure, and one has L on it for low pressure. Not sure which line you connect up to, but the braided line from the bottle will only fit on the correct H or L as they are a different size.

Wear gloves, bottle gets a bit chilly as you dispense it into the A/C system. You'll get some simple instructions with the kit, YouTube vids are helpful too. May even be a vid on there of someone doing a Hatch.

Where you connect up should be easily accessible,

It's the L port you need (for all cars)but the STP website only goes to 2003 Blob.

Well the plot thickens....I bought the stp kit but it was fully charged.
so I googled this and that about maybe compressor not engaging etc.
I swapped the air con relay over but still no joy.
I cycled through the diagnosis thingy still no joy.
So I thought surely if the control module was broken it would have to be unlucky for something else to be broken as well.
So I plugged the old one back in and voila cold air again.
So maybe as I was able to at least access the diagnosis mode though the UK one it maybe reset the system.
So now I have spare uk sti control module and brand new re gas kit that's not needed.
the joys of car ownership eh.
So not sure why uk ones aren't fully compatible or maybe they need syncing with the car as everything worked apart from cold air coming out the vents.
