Default Upgrade advise for Classic wagon

Your opinions please.

I have a MY00 classic wagon that i've owned for 15 years +.
In recent years have been getting it back up together with rear arches sorted first and no major corrosion to speak about other than the odd bit here and there and lots of Waxoyl etc.
Upgrades so far are the P1 springs with bump stop kits and new top mounts and new KYB excel G struts. Increased castor/camber top mounts front. all AR bar bushes and steering rack bushes along with fast road geometry.
Brembo brake kit from Godspeed.
Engine is standard apart from prodrive Ecu., K&N + decat straight through
STi8 top mount intercooler upgrade.
Gearbox refurbished with new Synchros etc. Competion cluth and 6.5kg flywheel fitted at the same time.
Really happy with the way the car drives but want a little more and earlier spool up. the intention was to go down the forged route but now thinking just a remap with the mods done after fitting an uprated fuel pump, new ignition coil pack and HT leads.
I'm not chasing HP but just want a bit more and better spool up. Would changing the turbo to something newer design help this ? should I buy a turbo or send mine away for new internals.
Advise welcome please.

thanks

Steve

A turbo with a billet wheel might aid in spool.

Why not go for a TD04 hybrid. Not that expensive, and increases pickup.

and I guess if I did get the engine forged at some later stage then I’m future proofed as I need to keep hp down due to the 5 speed box.

any suggestions where to get one of these ?

thanks

Steve

Heard good things about flat four performance.
