Legacy buying advice
Hi All,
I’ve been away for a long time, after selling my heavily modified classic STI several years ago I bought a tidy standard RS6 avant. The RS was a great family performance car and very reliable but running costs were on the high side and I fancied a change so I sold up a few months ago. I need an estate really and I fancy getting back in a Subaru, so I’m considering a Legacy, although l know a bit about Imprezas after owning and doing all my own work on one for several years, I know nothing about the Legacy.
I’m a bit baffled about all the different models GTB GTH etc , I want decent performance and every day practically. I believe some models can be mapped for about 300 BHP but which are these? Do some have Bilstien suspension? Any advice appreciated especially from anyone who has owned one.
Thanks, Richard.

I've run my Legacy Blitzen Wagon alongside an STi so have been able to compare. Mine is a 5 speed manual mapped to just over 300HP and has Bilsteins and also a few other goodies including STi Genome exhaust.
Gearing is short which makes for good acceleration bt not the greatest motorway crusier! I love it, I can get my two German Shepherds in the back and have also taken two of us to France carp fishing.
It's plenty quick enough to have fun and make good progress on B-Roads and you also don;t see many others which is quite nice. The Spec-B version has the Bilstein suspension as well (B for Bilstein).
Charlie at Prodrift (Page on Ebay) usually has a few good ones up for sale.
