Break or sell complete
Ok I have abit of a dilemma, I’ve put a deposit down on another Impreza which means my current 03 blob spec c
Is going to be either up for sale or broke is next week
im not sure how the market is at the minute ? but the car is a good spec running slightly over 400 safely with print
from SRR after it was mapped by Richard at fb tuning... still on tmic and advised with a fmic it could see a extra 25
bhp approx on the Lm420 turbo.
I would really like to keep the defi bf advanced set up which if I break I will 100 % be keeping or may give 2 prices
One with the set up and one without....
Mileage wise if I remember correctly is around it’s just over 75500,... mods wise to many to list, no running issues
always run on momentum, warmed up and around to cool after I’ve been out in it and the fastest colour white (51e)

it is a motorsport edition so came with keep fit windows no Electric mirrors but did have ac.
bad point ..... the c frame underneath is not rotten in any way but I have used it to Jack off at the fromy so is mis shaped in at the back
I Have corbeau front seats I made my own rails which have never been a issue but may look better with genuine aftermarket seat rails.
that’s about it tbh I wouldn’t be selling it i wasn’t buying something special and I cannot afford to run both, the spec c hardly gets driven it’s not a daily
and the Milage refects that always been looked after cost a fortune over the years on getting her where I wanted her.
Price wise I think I would want £16500 for her and would let the gauge set up go with it.... alternatively I could break it and make more just it pains me to break
a perfectly good car, dose anyone know what a spec c shells fetches these days no rust on it at all....
I have advert ready on my phone but haven’t listed her yet just wondering what’s people’s thoughts wether I should break or sell complete,,, I know without seeing a full spec sheet it’s difficult to gauge though..
any thoughts CSF

hi Jon.... yes this is it.... breaking dose take alittle while I will get it listed up more than likely next week
and if no interest in a few weeks will break just I don’t no how the market is for selling right now
Ah ok, in answer to your question, they seem to range from £600. I'd prefer to take a few grand less without all the hassle of removing and listing parts.

Ive only broken one car before (and not an Impreza), but I had to wait for a long time until I was past break even. I did make money breaking it in the end, but I got it in drips and drabs, which was annoying.
Good luck with whatever route you go down, and post a spec list up so us vultures can start circling

Fair enough! If you do break, then be careful that you don't end up with some of the expensive bits unsold for a long time. E.g Arch's brand new 2.35 sat unsold for a long time at what I thought was a great price.

Yeh I saw arch’s 2.35 it was around for a while but although it was a good price people still have to find what I consider
to be a big chunk of cash...
the funny thing is I’ve actually broke every previous Impreza I’ve owned including my previous 2 type R’s and yes your right
in the long run you will make more cash over a period of time if you want to stick to your prices and not getting knocked price wise.
guess it just depends on how quick and desperate you are for the cash I guess.
I’m not listing up for breaking just yet I think I’m gonna list whole for a month or so and see if I get any serious interest
if not I will start breaking her but I would want a buyer for the shell first and they can pick and choose what they want left on
them I guess will be engine and box but we will see if I have to go down that route in a month or so.
You should do what my brother in law does. He lists his cars only a few months after buying them. He lists for top end price and as he doesn't really want to sell he turns down all low offers. And only reduces the price if he sees something else he wants and actually wants to sell it.
I did it with my last Impreza. Guy came to view it tried to knock me down, but I said I didn't really want to sell, so sold for sale price.
If you do it this way you still get to enjoy the car and get the money you want. Then if all else fails break it.

Not much in the way of interest so far....
the eBay add has about 2 weeks to run may give it the remaining time and break if nothing happens
sad to do but Don’t see that I’m gonna have much else I’m able to do I’m not sitting on the car
for a year waiting for it sell

Some honest feedback - hoping you don’t take offence...
I think you’ll probably have to break it to make decent money.
Just my opinion, but the people willing to spend £15k + on Imprezas are generally not looking for limited editions that have been heavily modified in someone’s own personal taste.
The Skull and Crossbones over the number plates are not helping sell a car of that value.
As I said - honest feedback

Hi Ross, thanks for that fully appreciate your thoughts....
if I could figure out how to blur the plates I would do that but needed something to blank
out the plates with and tbh there wasn’t a lot to use but I do see where your coming from
and it had crossed my mind...
i think your probably going to be right in terms of breaking her... this was a motorsport version
so actually came with nothing, throw away interior 16” rims basicly nothing and built it up over the last few years
so I didn’t have much choice but to modify it.
You said what I’ve been thinking for the last week....
