Default XV diesel, any engine issues to be aware of?

I am thinking of getting a diesel XV as a daily and family car.
Do you guys know if Subaru has fixed the bottom end issues their 2008 or so diesel engines used to have?
I guess a 2013 XV will have a different engine?
Thanks!

From what I have read on this forum the short answer is no. It was also mention on here it was one of the reasons they dropped diesels entirely. But its up to you what you make of that. The diesel introduction was a little too late and no incentive to fix it.

They only produced one ill fated diesel engine, the EJ20Z/EE20

A few of the internals were updated/upgraded

Didn't realise that so it was the legacy diesel then that everyone here refers to when they say keep away from subaru diesels.

Yeah loads of adverts for them as spares repairs, including the Impreza models.
