Should I get a UK car or WRX ?
#1
Seeking some help from you gurus.
I used to have a 95 Impreza turbo and more recently an Integra Type R. Looking to get back into a Scooby but don't really want to go back to what I've already had. I've driven the post 98 spec and it is far improved over my previous one.
However, I drove a friend's 99 WRX (not Sti) in Australia and it went like stink. I thought I'd get back to blighty and be able to find loads in the classifieds. Unfortunately I can find MY98-00 UK turbos, MY94-95 WRXs and MY99 STis. Should I get the UK model, an STi or hold out for a WRX to come along ?
Any help would be very grateful.
Regards
Marcus

An MY99 STI sounds very tempting.
This very much depends on your budget and preference of import or UK.
I prefer the import versions for the shorter gearing, slightly more power and loadsa extras
If I had the money I would go for an STI 7 (not the type UK model)
The main downfalls are the increased insurance that you hav eto pay some are annoyed at the feact that UK dealers won't service them - that bothers me not. Some people find parts hard to get hold of, again that has never bothered me.
At the end of the day, we can offer you advice, but go out and test drive them! I knew my Scoob was for me when I got in the drivers seat and test drove her
Try the SIDC site for any technical info and any other help you want.

An MY99 UK would hve very little if any original warranty unless it been extended.
UK is safer choice in many areas but I wouldnt swap my MY00 import for an MY00 UK but thats just me.
Like LMWRX said the gearing and extra toys make the car for me.
