Make a day off it. There's a cracking wee cafe that sits on the main road behind Andy's workshop. I've used Andy twice since owning my blobeye. Taking it from what was a stock 245bhp ( hypertech rolling road figures ) to as of October 2018 355bhp and

torque. Obviously the car has changed a faor bit since then and accompanying mods added but Andy has always been super helpful with information and the best way forward with the car.

Absolutely standard 60 plate Hatch STI mate apart from a few cosmetic bits and pieces & Cobra exhaust system

I had my hatch mapped by andy about 3 yrs ago now and its been fantastic! the man is a legend and very helpful. The rear o2 sensor kept throwing a code about 6 moths after mapping so Andy took it in and mapped it out FOC.
The only disapointment was i didnt get to drive the car while he mapped it . I was relegated to the cafe instead, but I did get to drive my classic as he mapped that but that was 10 years ago.

Well what a day , can't speak highly enough of Andy.

Took time to explain what he was going to do. I'm sure there's loads of us know the exact process but I'll just say what he did for those who don't.

Andy maps it himself out on the road via his laptop, no rolling road at his garage, asked what fuel you run it on and how hard you push the car etc (I don't push it hard if truth be told). Then basically thats it, leave it with me, come back in 1hr30mins and we'll take it from there.

So I took a wee stroll about the town(Port Seton) smashing harbour and then ended up in a cafe for a bite to eat

Pic of the the harbour where the garage is

Back round to the garage and Andy was just done, there was a slight issue with boost which Andy fixed in 2mins (not worth explaining) and apart from that he said the car ran perfect, as mentioned its totally standard apart from Cobra cat back exhaust

Car made 340bhp@5134rpm & 373lbft@4235rpm so I'm absolutely chuffed to bits at that. He said next stage being induction kit \ downpipe etc if I wanted more.

What a cracking guy he is, said he had no more appts. today so we chatted for about 20mins and he showed me the 2 cars he had in his lockup. The 'Scooby' Stormtrooper (I dunno how much of this is a scooby now!! ) currently about 900bhp lol and a Caterham he picked up I think he said last year. Its got a Honda engine 2.0 16v with turbo added running 450bhp

A really cracking knowledgeable guy . Said any issues at all just email and I'll come back to you.

Car felt brilliant down the road, spooling quicker , more responsive and he added downshift blip in as well which is pretty cool. Best Ł480 ever spent on it.

A few pics of mine once I got back, any questions please ask but honestly you wont be disappointed if you go to Andy

Glad you had a good trip through to Port Seaton. Originally went through over 10 years ago with my 05 STI widetrack which Andy mapped, It was running a Meercat 3" exhaust and a performance filter and the car was transformed when he finished, Even when I kept lifting off whilst he was mapping.

After chasing a similar power delivery and fun to drive experience I finally decided to get rid of my E92 M3 and get a Hawkeye.... "With the dodgy 2.5L", torque delivery made it quite a different drive to the original 2.0L, Anyway it was mapped already but booked it into Andy who, as stated this time took it away himself this time whilst I went to the café he altered the fuel at the top end as it was a little lean due to the RCM filter and gave the car a clean bill of health.

Anyway with the downshift blip and peace of mind Andy mapped the car I have been delighted since. I know little about mapping but he shared a lot of his knowledge and what would be my next moves for more power if I wished but appreciated the car was a garage queen and that I had taped up the paintwork where the sensor cables run .

Hope you enjoy the hatch post map, she looks great and sure it will be the best money you spend on the car.

Cheers
