Need some advice on suspension
Hi all
I have a 2001 jdm bug sti. X plate so it’s an early one
I’m changing shocks and springs instead of going to coilovers after plenty of research
Confused as to what’s available for this MY
I’m looking at KYB ultra sr. Part numbers. 321006/7/8/9
Whiteline springs. Part no. WSK SUB0003
This model year seems different to blob and hawk and I want to be sure before ordering.
Are front and and rear top mounts universal across all newage cars??

You have a multitude of opinions from Koni to Ohlins. I had Koni and Eibach springs fitted to my Blobeye but red STI struts and Eibach springs fitted to my Bugeye and both worked very well.
If you want some adjustment then try KYB AGX.
It all depends on what you want from the car really.

Have a read of some of this:

Was originally geared toward my WRX...but a good all round discussion about the OEM type shocks and lowering springs.

Another option is good handling plus height adjustment but not rebound is Tein basics they will cost you 505£ for a full set , the ride is not harsh but handling is greatly improved for not a lot of £ , i had them on my sti jdm 2001 bugeye i thought they were very good for what they are price wise and performance wise

I’m happy with what I’ve chose. Looking forward to getting it in the air now and getting stuck in
I looked at coilovers for ages but for me they’re we’re seeming to crashy in reviews for under a grand. I live in the sticks and it’s about 20 minutes of potholes in every direction
not been on track yet. Anythin in Shropshire???

If u used autodoc u are in for problems. See the thread I started.they don't ship bulky items to the UK.wait ages for stock to arrive and when ask for a refund they try to give u an account credit rather than back to your account
