Default Full service on my 2001 wrx

Hello
Hope you are all well. When I was younger I saw a wrx estate and thought one day I will have one. Now I do. I want to restore the engine next yeat. But for now i want to do a full service. I know it will need oil and filter, air filter, spark plugs, transfer and gear box oil and possibly other items. What are the recommended makes of these parts and what is recommended for a full service at 160k for a 2002 reg

I appreciate any help. Want to do the best for the car and want to restore it next year.

Alright mate, welcome!
Been meaning to reply for a while!

Geberally inport car parts and opine oils are great.

i use opine oils to get some miller oil- you will need 10w 40 fully synthetic. I se the millers nt+ nanext Drive- very good quality but the millers cfs will be more than fine. A standard air filter will be fine.

Thanks Moorgate car parts are good fun r ceervc E components such as air filters, cam belt kits, and the likes .
buy some iridium spark plugs - grade 6 and gap to 0.7mm.

Avoid eBay purchases unless it is a well know st Re selling the item - too many copies out there and you want to be sure of what you are fitting to your car.

Import car parts are very good. They have a huge wealth of knowledge Japanese cars, so you can by parts from them in confidence it will fit.
AS performance is also a very good parts dealer.

Totally didn’t answer your question.

Go oem mare- get that at import car parts. Air filter you can stick a green cotton or cosworth in - but again oem is fine and cheaper.

When i gt my classic sti I changed

cam belt and tensioner
water oump
oil
oil filter
air filter
brake fluid
steering pump fluid
Brake discs and pads

cambelt, water pump and oil change change would be my priority

basically change as much as you can afford unless it looks new mate

I had a whole bunch of receipts when i got it, including wheel repair and sprayed silver. Also the timing and water pump was not done long ago, but your right always best to change it if in doubt.

the calipers were refurbished about a year ago, but im not happy with the braking, peddle moves a bit far before the starts slowing, so im going to flush the system through. best brake fluid any recommendations?

i have decided i want to keep the car original. the inside is in really good condition, just need to sort the body work out, and the huge after market exhaust which does nothing for the car,

Wrx brakes are not the best. Lots of people upgrade to Brembos from a sti but it's not a cheap option, particularly if you need to replace the wheels to get them to fit.
But good pads and discs, new fluid, a brake stopper and some braided hoses will help a lot for less money and can be done in increments.

I'd go direct to Opie oils. As your car has done a fair few miles they may recommend a slightly different oil to that in the manual.

The very long "what oil thread" suggests that they'll recommend exactly what it says in the manual.....

10w40 for engine - fully synth

75w90 for gearbox and diff - worth paying extra for the better stuff as you don't change it very often. Motul Gear 300 for example.
