Default Best drop-in air filter panel?

Hi.

I had a service last month, and my garage fitted a Bosche S9051 drop-in air filter.

Any good? Any difference if I change to something else?

I've noticed zero difference between a k&n panel and a cheap paper one.

Great! That's what I suspected.

Thought I'd check. I tried everything on my MkI MX5: chopped box, Swiss cheese, drop-in, open cone....stock was best!

Cheers.

Air filters that flow more air will prove their worth if you get the car remapped .

As above will only work when car is mapped as with a thinner filter allows more air than a slightly restricted one.
So yes they will benefit, most fit upgraded one without a Tweek and expect it to work but all it may do is make idle a bit funny.
I did same with my Audi when going to stage 1 map.
